Chamness Designer wins U.S. Composting Council National Poster Contest
1/25/12

Chamness Technology Creative Director Emily Bibler was recognized by the US Composting Council (USCC) as the 2012 International Compost Awareness Week poster contest winner. Contestants were challenged to visually portray the theme, "Compost! ...Replenish the Earth for Generations".

"Emily's poster truly captured the spirit of composting and of ‘Replenishing the Earth,’" said Jeff Ziegenbein, ICAW Chair. Bibler’s artwork will be incorporated into the official ICAW 2012 poster, which will be distributed nationwide during International Compost Awareness Week, May 7-12, 2012. Activities span the globe with celebrations planned across the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and Ireland.

Chamness Technology will lead celebrations throughout Iowa with community outreach events promoting organics recycling and the use of compost.

Chamness Media Statement

November 8th, 2011

Chamness Technology strives to be a good steward of the environment.  In the past few years, we have experienced incidents that resulted in non-compliance with environment regulations.  There was an overrun with our holding ponds during Iowa’s 100-year flood events.  It was an unfortunate incident, but we are grateful that there was no long-term environmental impact on local streams, rivers or ground water contamination.  We have taken corrective measures to rectify the problem and to prevent future issues.  Additional procedures, training and monitoring have been implemented, and our team worked earnestly with governmental agencies to reach an agreement. We are in complete compliance and received a three-year permit in February 2011.
